Per multiple reports, the Buffalo Sabres are trading defenseman Erik Johnson to the Philadelphia Flyers. The Sabres, in return, will receive a 2024 fourth-round pick. There is no salary retention on the deal.

Johnson, 35, had three goals in 50 games this season with Buffalo. He has been held out of the last few games out of precaution due to an expected trade at the deadline. Johnson previously spent many years with the Colorado Avalanche, where he won the Stanley Cup, and has also skated with the St. Louis Blues. He was drafted by the Blues with the first overall pick in 2006.

Update (2:10 p.m.): This trade is now official, having been announced by both the Flyers and Sabres.
