Sabres trade up to select Cederqvist at 143rd overall
In their second trade-up of the day, the Buffalo Sabres jumped up to pick 143 for Swedish forward, Filip Cederqvist
For the second time on day two of the 2019 NHL Draft, the Buffalo Sabres traded up, this time to select Swedish forward, Filip Cederqvist. Buffalo parted with picks 177 and 191 to jump up to the Detroit Red Wings’ spot at 143rd overall.
In 59 contests between Vaxjo (33 games) and their U20 team (26 games), the 6-foot-1 winger registered 40 points. He was ranked as the 119th European skater by NHL Central Scouting.
At 18 years old, he is expected to return to Vaxjo for the 2019-20 season. He should fit right in with the strong Swedish pipeline currently in the Sabres organization.
