Sabres trade rumors: What would Detroit be willing to give up for Tyler Myers?

The Myers trade rumors refuse to die, so we asked JJ from Winging it in Motown what the Sabres might expect in return if Myers went to one of the most often rumored teams - Detroit.

Nobody can escape Tyler Myers trade rumors, no matter how many times Tim Murray says he's not actively shopping the young defenseman. But with relatively new rumors of Anaheim and Colorado popping up yesterday, we thought we'd revisit the most popular Myers trade rumor - the Detroit Red Wings - to see what value other teams might give Big T.

We asked Winging it in Motown writer J.J. Fromkansas what he thought the Wings would be willing to give up for Myers, and here's what he had to say:

I think the Wings are going to hold strong on not giving up either Anthony Mantha or Dylan Larkin, but I think they would be willing to give up a package involving Tomas Jurco or Teemu Pulkkinen, plus one or two defensive prospects from Brendan Smith, Xavier Ouellet, Alexey Marchenko, Ryan Sproul, or Nick Jensen, along with a first or second round pick.

While I think every Sabres fan would love Mantha, and Larkin is a very nice prospect as well, Tomas Jurco, a first rounder, and another defensive prospect would be a pretty nice package - but do you think it would be enough?

The Sabres are dealing from a position of power when it comes to possibly dealing Myers, considering how many other teams seem to be interested, so Tim Murray can wait until he sees a deal that blows his doors down. We'll keep you updated on any major rumors that come around, as we're getting into the silly season of trade talk, but let us know what you think of this possible deal in the comments.
