Three Questions

1. Can Kane have a slump-breaking game against his old team?

Much ado has been made about the return to Winnipeg for Evander Kane…by everyone except Kane himself. Calling it, “Just another game” publicly, Kane will undoubtedly be fired up to prove to the home team just how wrong they were to trade him. A big game from Evander would go a long way toward breaking the Sabres six game losing streak, and Kane’s own six game pointless streak needs to come to an end as well.

2. Will the Sabres ever score a first period goal again?

The Sabres are stuck on 15 first period goals for through 41 games, the lowest number in the league. The Winnipeg Jets, on the other hand, have given up 41 first period goals, also worst in the league. Hmm…

3. How will Stafford and Myers play tonight?

Our old friends Drew Stafford and Tyler Myers should also have a little pep in their step tonight with their old team in town for the first time since being traded. Stafford is leading Winnipeg with 14 goals, while Myers is having a nice season, scoring 18 points and sitting at +5.

Projected BUF lines
