Letter From the Editor: End of the Year Edition

It’s been a while since I’ve put one of these together, but with the year coming to an end, I felt like it was a good time to put one together.

It was an eventful year of Buffalo Sabres hockey. We had losing, won a draft lottery, drafted Rasmus Dahlin, traded Ryan O’Reilly, traded for Jeff Skinner, won 10 games in a row, and now some hard times have hit the team again.

A lot of ups downs over a 12 month stretch. The good news is the roller coaster year has given us a lot to talk and write about on this site.

The site itself had a very strong 2018, thanks to you, the reader. We’ve seen significant growth in terms of overall viewership and the community itself. Without you we wouldn’t be able to put together the excellent writing team we have here and continue to bring new engaging ideas to the site.

I genuinely believe the conversation and discussion on this site is some of the best Sabres talk you’ll find on the internet. It motivates the rest of the team and myself to continue to bring quality content to keep the conversation going.

On a personal note, with a full calendar year under my belt as Managing Editor of Die By The Blade, I continue to feel blessed to have this opportunity. I’m thankful for each and every reader, as well as each and every piece off feedback you give.

I’m thankful for the excellent writers we have on this site, that are passionate about the sport and determined to provide insightful content. I couldn’t ask for a better team.

So, again, thank you all for a great 2018. I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year.

Let’s have an even better 2019 and hopefully it’ll include some playoff hockey.
