Sabres Recall Seth Griffith

The Buffalo Sabres announced this afternoon they’ve recalled forward Seth Griffith from the Rochester Amerks. This will be Griffith’s second stint with the Sabres this season. He had two goals and three points in 18 games earlier this season.

Since being sent down to the Amerks the 25-year-old has been a huge part of the offense. He has 13 goals in 34 games for Rochester this season. Griffith has always been a good AHL player that struggled to stick in the NHL.

Griffith was recalled to take the place of Kyle Okposo. He’s out with the birth of his child. The Sabres are back in action tomorrow night against the Tampa Bay Lightning. It appears he’ll step right into Okposo’s vacated spot in the lineup playing with Benoit Pouliot and Evan Rodrigues.

He’ll likely play tomorrow in Tampa Bay. We’ll see if he stays for the entire road trip to Florida with the Panthers on tap Friday.
