Asplund and Olofsson will both begin their North American playing careers in the AHL.
Several players still remain up with the Buffalo Sabres who could end up in Rochester this season, including Justin Bailey and Nicholas Baptiste. Alexander Nylander, Lawrence Pilut, Tage Thompson, Brendan Guhle and Matt Tennyson are also still with the NHL club.
The Sabres open their regular season schedule next Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Amerks will host the Toronto Marlies this evening for a 7:05 p.m. preseason tilt at HARBORCENTER in downtown Buffalo – so Asplund, Olofsson and co. don’t have far to go.
They’ll continue their preseason this weekend with another game against the Marlies as well as a match with the Syracuse Crunch. As the Sabres continue to whittle down their roster prior to opening night, expect a few more assignments in the coming days.
