We’re into the second week of the 2016-17 NHL preseason. The Buffalo Sabres had a mixed bag of results from the first four preseason games last week, including some worrisome injuries – Kyle Okposo was hit by a puck in the knee in practice yesterday, Zach Bogosian has a groin strain, Dmitry Kulikov is still recovering from a bruised behind suffered last week and and Nicholas Baptiste remains out too with a lower back injury.
There’s another three games on tap this week, starting off tonight with a game against the Carolina Hurricanes in Marquette, Michigan. The city won the Kraft Hockeyville USA contest this year and is hosting a festival to celebrate the achievement. Tonight’s game at the 3,100-seater Lakeview Arena marks the culmination of the festivities, which included an appearance for Lord Stanley’s Cup as well.
