After Team McClanahan jumped out to a 4-0 lead by the end of the second period, the game was all but pretty decided. But Team Housley still had something to prove as they were able to find the scoreboard in the third period. It wasn’t enough to catch up though as they lost to Team McClanahan, 5-2.
Evan Allen scored the first of two goals for Team Housley at the 6:08 mark of the third period. His second goal came with 6:10 left in the game on the power play. Team McClanahan wasn’t done scoring either as Dakota Mermis scored on a nice wrist shot that just tucked under the crossbar. His goal was assisted by Ryan Fitzgerald, which was his third assist of the night.
The goaltenders faced a good deal of shots in the final period as Team Housley outshot Team McClanahan 14-8 in the period. Evan Cowley finished the night with 16 saves on 18 shots while Hunter Miska finished with 15 saves on 16 shots.
Ryan Fitzgerald was named the game MVP after registering the three assists during the game.
