One of the biggest preseason stories for the Buffalo Sabres was the play of Sam Reinhart, and for some, the fact that he hadn’t recorded a single point in the preseason.
Before tonight, that is.
Reinhart finished off a long, strong shift that showed off his hands, his patience, his vision, and his scoring ability with a beauty of a snap shot. The goal was set up thanks to a great series of passes from Marcus Foligno and Chris Stewart, who were a strong line all night long.
Reinhart also showed off another important asset – the most adorable celebratory smile we’ve seen ’round these parts in a long time. Sorry, Foligno.

Reinhart’s odds to make the team are still long, but this has to ease the worry of many Sabres fans, and will likely give Reinhart one more chance to crack the lineup later this week against Carolina.
