Hey y’all. I’m Ryan Wolfe, the newest addition to Die By The Blade’s staff. Some of you know me as Ryan. Others know me by my excellent Twitter name, The Pizzaman. I would say it is a personality but I have caught myself responding to that more often than not, which makes me think I might have a problem.
But, let’s not get caught up there.
I have been a fan of the Buffalo Sabres for over 13 years now. My first memory of hockey was late into my childhood but it involved watching the likes of Derek Roy, Jason Pominville, Ryan Miller and Thomas Vanek all play for the Rochester Americans back during the 2004-05 NHL lockout – what a scary team they were. If I remember correctly, they won 51 games that year.
I knew from that point on, I would be hooked.
Fast forward to 2017 – I have found myself with a bevy of fantastic opportunities to write about this team for the last eight years. My next stop is here at Die By The Blade. For me, this has been the writing goal for a very, very long time. I’m sure that Andy Boron is muttering something to himself as he reads this, but I never thought I was good enough to even ask for a shot.
I want to thank you all in advanced for welcoming me to this tight-knit family you have here at Die By The Blade and I want to thank Chad, Travis Hughes and SB Nation for the opportunity of a lifetime.
