Sabres vs. Senators preview: Ruhwedel and Lieuwen fill in

Two Questions

1. What’s up with the surprise call-ups?

The Sabres recalled Nathan Lieuwen and Chad Ruhwedel from Rochester this morning. Robin Lehner and Carlo Colaiacovo are the players hurt. While Lieuwen will be sitting on the bench behind Chad Johnson, Ruhwedel could get his first game action of the season.

Bylsma said neither injury is long term. Lehner will get two or three days to rehab his ankle, and there are no plans to shut him down currently.

2. Can the second line get on the score sheet?

Eichel and Reinhart looked a little less effective with Girgensons than they had with Kane the past few weeks. If that continues, Bylsma may decide it’s best to shuffle up the lines once again, possibly flipping some wingers around.

Projected BUF Lineup

Kane – R. O’Reilly – Deslauriers
Girgensons – Eichel – Reinhart
Foligno – Larsson – Gionta
C. O’Reilly – Legwand – Moulson

Gorges – Ristolainen
McCabe – Bogosian
Ruhwedel – Pysyk

Goal: Chad Johnson
