Buffalo has made its first cuts of the season, sending Giorgio Estephan, Vaclav Karabacek, Brycen Martin and Devante Stephens back to their respective junior squads. None of the cuts are a surprise, as none of the players were expected to make the NHL roster. All of the players are under 20-years-old, so they are not eligible for the AHL.
The biggest name on the list is likely Karabacek, a second-round pick in last year’s draft. He returns to a Baie-Comeau Drakkar team that he was traded to last season. Martin was taken a round later. Estephan and Stephens were both selected by the Sabres in this year’s draft.
