Sabres recall Brendan Guhle from juniors

The Sabres have recalled defenseman Brendan Guhle from the Prince George Cougars (WHL) on an emergency basis. The 19-year-old Edmonton, Alberta native was a second-round pick of the Sabres in 2015.

Guhle has played 19 games this season between Prince George and the Prince Alberts Raiders, scoring five goals and two assists. He spent six games with the Rochester Americans last season following the conclusion of his junior season, scoring a goal and three assists. Last season he scored 10 goals and 18 assists in 63 games.

He’s had strong performances in training camp the past two seasons, but didn’t make the team either year.

The Sabres are already without Zach Bogosian and Dmitry Kulikov, and Josh Gorges is questionable for tomorrow’s game.
