Sabres Prospects Stock Up/Stock Down - October 26, 2011
It is time for our weekly look at the Buffalo Sabres prospects and how they fared last week. It is sometimes difficult to get a good handle on how these guys are actually playing because much of the this is based on statistics and nothing else. Still we can usually get a good grasp on who is playing well and who is not.
This was not a banner week for a large portion of the Sabres prospects, while others continued their upward trend. It has been amazing to follow what Jerome Gauthier-Leduc has been able to accomplish this season. I find myself becoming very intrigued by this young man and I have tried to find feeds of his games to be able to watch just how dominant he has been in the "Q".
Follow the jump to see how all the Sabres prospects did this week.
Player -Team | Draft Position | Status | Description |
Kevin Sundher - WHL | 44 | ![]() | (3GP 1G-3A-4P, -2) Sundher did not have a bad week but his minus-2 performance an 8-1 loss to the Vancouver Giants kept him from trending up this week. He started an upward trend after that with two assists in a 3-2 win over Kelowna and a goal and an assist in a 5-4 win against the Tri-City Americans. |
Jerome Gauthier-Leduc - QMJHL | 68 | (3GP 2G-3A-5P, +6) Gauthier-Leduc had an eight game goal scoring streak snapped in a 4-2 win against Rouyn-Noranda. He continues his assault on the QMJHL as he had five points in only three games. | |
Dan Catenacci - OHL | 77 | ![]() | (3GP 0G-2A-2P, -3)Catenacci is still averaging over a point per game for Owen Sound but he managed only a pair of assists this week to go along with a minus-3 rating. |

Mark Pysyk - WHL | 23 | ![]() | (2GP 0G-0A-0P, E) Another week with nothing to report on Pysyk. I am a bit disappointed because we are hoping for a lot out Pysyk and it has been difficult to measure his progression. |
