Three Questions

1. Will anyone score tonight more than one goal?

We asked yesterday whether anyone would score, and each team politely obliged with one goal. Andres Nilsson was a brick wall in net, making 41 saves, while the Sabres missed plenty of good opportunities against Keith Kinkaid.

Secondary scoring continues to be an issue for Buffalo, but the good news is that they’ve scored far more on the road than at home, so let’s hope for more than one puck in the back of the net today.

2. Will Ryan O’Reilly play tonight?

O’Reilly aggravated a previous middle body injury last night, and played just a few minutes of the third period before being taken out of the game. In his post game presser, Dan Bylsma said that ROR would be questionable for today’s game. Should he not be able to go,

3. Can the Sabres continue their strong special teams performance from last night?

The Sabres scored their lone goal on the power play, thanks to NHL PP goal leader Matt Moulson, and their PK was a perfect 6-for-6, including killing yet another double minor late in the game. In another game that’s likely to be low scoring, staying strong on special teams will be crucial.

Projected BUF Lines

26 Matt Moulson – 90 Ryan O’Reilly (we hope) – 21 Kyle Okposo
9 Evander Kane – 28 Zemgus Girgensons – 23 Sam Reinhart
82 Marcus Foligno – 22 Johan Larsson – 12 Brian Gionta
48 William Carrier – 27 Derek Grant – 73 Nicholas Baptiste

4 Josh Gorges – 55 Rasmus Ristolainen
41 Justin Falk – 34 Casey Nelson
29 Jake McCabe – 6 Cody Franson

Goal: 40 Robin Lehner
