Sabres at Bruins Preview: Eichel’s first homecoming

Game #35

Buffalo Sabres (14-16-4) vs.
Boston Bruins (19-10-4)

Puck Drop: 7:00 pm EST | TD Garden | Boston, MA
TV: MSG, NESN, Bell-TV | Radio: WGR 550
SB Nation Bruins Blog: Stanley Cup of Chowder

Three Questions

1. Can Jack Eichel score in his hometown?

Tonight is the first time Eichel plays in Boston in his NHL career, and although he said it will feel a bit weird, he’s excited for the opportunity. He’s gone a bit cold lately, only scoring one goal this month. Can he turn it around with a little Beantown beatdown?

2. Will the Sabres show any rust?

Buffalo had a longer Christmas break than most teams in the league, and haven’t played in a week. The Sabres could use the rest, but could start a bit slowly as they get back into the rhythm.

3. How will Tyler Ennis play?

The one Sabre who really didn’t need any rest was Ennis. Before the Blackhawks game, he hadn’t played since Nov. 23 due to injury. Will another break hurt his comeback effort?

Projected BUF Lineup

McGinn – O’Reilly – Reinhart
Kane – Eichel – Ennis
Girgensons – Larsson – Gionta
Deslauriers – Legwand – Moulson

Gorges – Ristolainen
McCabe – Bogosian
Weber – Franson

Goal: Chad Johnson
