Report: McLellan no longer in consideration for the Sabres
Bob McKenzie of TSN is reporting that Todd McLellan is no longer a candidate for the Sabres
The Todd McLellan saga has been full of plot twists over the last week. First he was coming to Buffalo to be the next head coach of the Sabres. Then he wasn’t, then maybe he was still, and now it looks like for sure he’s not.
Bob McKenzie of TSN tweeted this afternoon he’s no longer a candidate for the Sabres head coaching vacancy. He met with the Sabres, but he appears to be on his way to be the next coach of the Los Angeles Kings.
Todd McLellan is no longer a consideration to be the head coach in BUF. The Sabres identified McLellan as a candidate and had some dialogue this week but an offer/deal was never formalized/finalized. The expectation is McLellan may be the next head coach in LA.

So, the Sabres will continue their search for their 19th coach in franchise history. We’ll see where general manager Jason Botterill decides to go from here.
Chris Taylor could still be a legitimate option for them or perhaps they circle back on Ralph Krueger. He just departed his job with Southampton in Europe today.
All we know for sure is more speculation and debate is in our future.
