Sabres Prospects Wrap-up: 3/12 – 3/18

Tuesday, March 13th

Vojtech Budik gets his 27th assist of the year in Prince Albert’s 2-1 shootout loss to Moose Jaw. Budik ends the regular season at 41 points in 63 games.

Wednesday, March 14th

Brandon Hagel scores his 18th goal of the year and supplies his 40th assist on the year in a 5-2 win over Lethbridge. Hagel still showing a great turnaround from injury. He is one point shy of 60 on the year, in a season where he only played in 56 games.

Cliff Pu puts home a pair in Kingston’s 7-4 loss to Oshawa. Pu now has 27 goals on the season and has had some great performances since his trade to Kingston.

Thursday, March 15th

The Amerks blow a 4-0 lead and lose 6-4. Before second-half debacle, Rochester played a good game against Bridgeport. Sean Malone, Hudson Fasching, and Danny O’Regan put up goals and Alex Nylander was dynamite with two assists.

Friday, March 16th

BC was bounced in overtime in the Hockey East semifinal by BU, but Christopher Brown does get on the scoreboard with his 9th goal of the season. He matches his goal total from last season.

Brown, a junior, should be back at BC along with Casey Fitzgerald next year.

Austin Czarnik scores a hat-trick against the Amerks to push Providence ahead of Rochester  5-3. Alex Nylander scores his 6th of the year and Danny O’Regan deposits one in for his 11th.

Brandon Hagel picks up an assist in Red Deer’s final regular season game of the year. He and the Rebels will face off with Lethbridge for a second straight year in the first round o the WHL playoffs.

Another two-goal game for Cliff Pu this week as he finishes his regular season business. Pu was one goal away from a 30 goal season this year.

Saturday, March 17th

Vasily Glotov finishes the month of March with one point and no goals. That is how he ends the season as well. 29 goals and 14 assists for the Moscow native.

Sunday, March 18th

Another multiple goal lead smashed to bits for the Rochester Americans, this time by the Hartford Wolfpack. On the bright side of things, C.J. Smith scores a hat-trick in the loss. I think he should get an NHL look before the Amerks head to the playoffs.
