What to Watch

1. Evander Kane heating up.

After going ice cold for about a month. Kane has picked up the scoring again. He has four goals in the last seven games and has scored in two straight going into tonight.

UPDATE: Evander Kane is scratched from the lineup tonight

2. Paging Jason Pominville

After a very good start Pominville has disappeared. He just picked up his first point since January 9 on Thursday against the Red Wings. That was also the last time Pominville scored a goal. He has one goal since December 8.

Know Your Opponent

1. Desperate Team

Coming into the game against the Sabres on Monday the Capitals lost two of their last three. Since winning in Buffalo on Monday they lost their next two games to the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers. Sabres should expect a desperate club tonight on home ice.
