The fact that Buffalo Sabres forward Kyle Okposo has missed the past few games with “an illness” is not concerning. The act that it was revealed today that he has been hospitalized and is in intensive care certainly is.
WGR’s Paul Hamilton first reported today on the radio that Okposo had been admitted to the Neuro Surgical ICU at Buffalo General Hospital. Sabres coach Dan Bylsma did not reveal any sort of diagnosis or specifics to Okposo’s condition, but said that his situation was, “Very concerning.”
The quotes we have so far from Bylsma aside from his concern above are (per The Buffalo News):
“It’s a difficult thing for him to be dealing with now in this situation. Very, as a coach and a person, concerned for him and his situation. He’s seeing our doctors and done some tests.”
Obviously we’ll keep a close eye on this situation, and our thoughts are with Okposo during this difficult situation. We’ll hope things aren’t too serious, and will update things as soon as we find out anything more.
