Jason Pominville Says He’s Ready To Go For Next Season

While training camp won’t officially start for the Buffalo Sabres until next Friday, there are some Sabres players that are coming in and starting to get their training going for this upcoming season. One of those players is Jason Pominville and he talked to Paul Hamilton of WGR 550 about his status for the 2011 season.

“No, I don’t see why there would be any issue. I have to be cleared by the doctors, but I think it’s just a formality. I feel fine, I can do everything I used to be able to do whether it’s in the gym or outside in my workouts I feel good.”

Pominville went down with a gruesome injury in Game 5 of the Flyers series after a skate blade cut his ankle and he was feared to miss some of the season or training camp. According to Pominville, he should be ready to go for the start of the season. With Pominville in the lineup, the Sabres should have a glut of right wingers heading into camp. The Sabres obviously have to move some players somewhere, whether it be to Rochester or via trade, to get under the salary cap ceiling. Pominville and his $5 million salary have been one of those players that fans have suggested could be moved to clear some salary space.
