Jack Eichel talks Sabres on Spittin’ Chiclets podcast

Jack Eichel was the latest guest on Barstool Sports’s Spittin’ Chiclets podcast, talking to hosts Rear Admiral and Ryan Whitney about growing up playing hockey in Massachusetts, USA Hockey, the World Cup of Hockey, leaving Boston University and his time with the Sabres.

It’s almost an hour long and one of the more candid interviews I’ve ever heard Eichel do, and you’ll probably get a chuckle comparing the pod to WGR’s “B’s are the best” show. Also a warning, it’s a bit NSFW due to language.

One of the topics he discussed was his contract status, saying his agent would likely want to get a deal done sooner rather than later. He also detailed his summer workout plan, saying he just started getting back on the ice last week. (Ignore the part where he talks about Tom Brady being his hero.)

He’s also optimistic about the upcoming season.

“I think with the way our team looks, I would have said this last summer too, we were one point out of the playoffs going into the bye week,” Eichel said. “With the new changes, we’ve acquired some players and guys are a year older. … I think that we should expect to be in the playoffs next season.”

Eichel is one of the biggest names they’ve landed on the podcast, joining current NHLers Torey Krug, Taylor Hall and Kevin Hayes. You can listen to the pod online or on the Apple podcast app.
