Buffalo Sabres summer: What are you most looking forward to next year?

In case you haven’t noticed, folks, it’s summer time. The weather is warmer, the kids are (still) out of school, and the world of hockey has entered its annual mid-year hibernation period.

With the end of their 2014 Development Camp last week, the Buffalo Sabres organization will take a few well-earned weeks off before the 2014-15 season gets underway. The team has had a whirlwind of excitement over the past few months, from drafting Sam Reinhart to signing a bevy of veteran free agents, to a very successful development camp scrimmage that looked more like a regular season crowd than a Tuesday in July had any right to look.

But now we’ve entered the dog days of summer, and with that, any new information about the Sabres or the 2014-15 season will be few and far between. Don’t worry, we’ll have you covered here at DBTB with fresh content, articles, and series every day during the summer, but today we wanted to just ask one simple question:

What are you most looking forward to next season?

While the team will still be one of the worst in the NHL next year, there’s still plenty to be excited about. Are you looking forward to he debut of Sam Reinhart? How about the growth of some young veterans like Zemgus Girgensons, Rasmus Ristolainen, or Johan Larsson? Maybe you’re interested in seeing whethe Jhonas Enroth or Michal Neuvirth are truly the goalies of the future, or whether Tyler Myers can finally put thing together and play a full season as well as we know he can, Or maybe you’ve got your sights set on last place and drafting #1 next year, and will be rooting for the team (or the Islanders) to tank.

There might not be a lot of news over the coming weeks, but there’s still plenty for Sabres fans to be excited about. Let us know what you’re most looking forward to in the comments.
