Sabres re-sign Rodrigues for two years

The Buffalo Sabres announced today that they have signed Evan Rodrigues to a two-year deal with a total value of $1.3 million.

Rodrigues will carry a cap hit of $650,000 for the next two years, and in a nice move for organizational flexibility, the first year of his deal is a two-way contract, while the second year is one-way.

The new contract is a nice birthday present for Rodrigues, who will turn 24 years old tomorrow. He appeared in 30 games for the Sabres last season, scoring four goals and six total points, while scoring 30 points in 48 total games for the Rochester Amerks. With this upcoming season being the year his deal is a two-way contract, we could see him bounce back and forth between the Sabres and Amerks again.

With E-Rod in the fold, the Sabres now have two RFAs left to sign – Zemgus Girgensons and Nathan Beaulieu, the latter of which has an arbitration hearing scheduled for August 4th.
