Sabres add another defenseman in Matt Tennyson

The Sabres added another member to the blue line Saturday, signing Matt Tennyson to a two-year deal. Tennyson has spent four years in the NHL, setting a new career high with 45 games played with the Hurricanes last season.

The first year of the contract is two-way and the second is one-way according to the Sabres.

Tennyson has played 105 games in the NHL with Carolina and San Jose, scoring three goals and 20 points.

With the other moves the Sabres have made, it’d be safe to say Tennyson will likely play for the Rochester Americans next season. He played nine games in the AHL last season, scoring three goals and seven points. He has 72 points in 178 career AHL games.
