Murray, 22, made his professional hockey debut last season with the Rochester Americans.
In 55 games, Murray made his depth-presence felt with 24 points (nine goals, 15 assists).
“Brett acclimated very well to the AHL and showed continued improvement throughout the season,” Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams stated in a press release. “He has a unique blend of size and scoring ability and we’re excited to see his development continue.”
Murray spent his college career at Penn State (NCAA), tallying seven points (one goal, six assists) in 33 career games.
After his time at Penn State, Murray returned to the Youngstown Phantoms (USHL), where he played before moving over to Penn State.
In the 2018-19 USHL season, Murray amassed 76 points (41 goals, 35 assists) in 62 games.
Murray is expected to begin next season with the Rochester Americans to continue to develop as he provides much needed organizational depth.
