Sabres recall Justin Bailey

For most of the season, William Carrier has been the first younger prospect on the call-up list from Rochester. Thanks to a fight last night where he injured his hand, Carrier will be out tomorrow night and the Sabres have recalled Justin Bailey in his place.

The 21-year old Bailey has gotten ten games in the NHL over the past two season, and despite his strong skating and shooting skills, he has yet to register a point in the big leagues.

The good news is that Bailey has shown nice improvement this season in Rochester. He is second on the Amerks and tied for seventh in the entire AHL this season with 13 goals in 31 games after scoring 20 in 71 games last season, and he’s on a streak of scoring five goals in his last five games.

The Williamsville native will start on the fourth line tomorrow in Boston, but Sabres coach Dan Bylsma has said he could quickly earn a promotion thanks to his speed. After  suffering a demoralizing loss yesterday to the Bruins, the Sabres will need all the help they can get tomorrow.
