Starting next season, the entire NHL will look a little bit different, thanks to the league switching their jerseys from Reebok to Adidas. All 31 teams unveiled their new look jerseys tonight, and for the Buffalo Sabres, things look…similar, but better.

As much as we wish the team would go back to royal blue instead of the early-2000s navy blue, these jerseys are an improvement in my book simply by removing the distracting piping on the side of the sweater and the god-awful grey armpit stains from the previous version. Thank you, hockey gods.
It’s worth noting, however, that according to this photo, the Sabres are the only team that has numbers on the front of their jersey, which this writer thinks is #dumb #branding. The Sabres’ 50th anniversary season is just a few years away, so some more jersey changes could be happening then, for you bright color and number placement fans.
So, DBTBers, anyone gonna plunk down their hard-earned dollars to get these new threads? If so, whose name is on the back?
