Johan Larsson continued his strong play this season with another solid game tonight. He scored the Sabres second goal of the game and locked down the two Edmonton Oilers stars when he was one the ice with them. According to Natural Stat Trick, at 5 on 5 both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl had a shot share of 12.5% (CF%), as well as a shot quality share (xGF%) of 6% when they were up against Larsson.

Plus 2: 13 and counting…

Jack Eichel extended his point streak to 13 games with an assist on the game winning goal in overtime. He maintained puck possession after a strong drive to the net in overtime. After he regrouped outside of the zone he got the puck down low to Marcus Johansson and he fed Colin Miller for the game winning goal.

Plus 3: Miller ends the night

Colin Miller got back in against the Oilers tonight and had a strong night. He capped that off with his first goal as a Sabre and it was a goal that his needed to end the trip on a good note.

Minus 1: Special teams struggle again

The Sabres didn’t score on the three opportunities with the man advantage. In fact, they didn’t even to manage a shot on goal. As per usual, they allowed a power play goal against that tied the game two.
