Sabres battled back in the third but fall in a shootout to the Bruins

Score: Bruins 3 | Sabres 2 (SO)

Shots: BOS 34 | BUF 23

Sabres Goals: Colin Miller (4) and Rasmus Dahlin (4)

Bruins Goals: David Krejci (3) and Craig Smith (9)

Minus – 1 | Ullmark Hurt

The only bad news to come out of this game is that Linus Ullmark was injured once again. Early in the first period he looked to be in some discomfort after what looked like a harmless post to post slide.

He would leave the game after 4:54 to be replaced by Dustin Tokarski. After the game Don Granato said that he didn’t have an update on his lower-body injury and was hoping they’d have one this morning.

Plus – 1 | Anders Bjork Debut

Anders Bjork had a nice debut for the Sabres. He skated 13:55 mostly with Dylan Cozens and Arttu Ruotsalainen. He picked up a secondary assist on the first goal of the game. He solid on the forecheck and made a few nice defensive plays.

He even had an opportunity to win the game in overtime, but the puck jumped off his stick before he could put it into the back of the net.

Plus – 2 | Rasmus Dahlin

The re-emergence of Dahlin under Granato continued last night. We was solid again playing over 23 minutes. He made a real nice play walking the blue line on his goal to tie the game on his 21st birthday.

Plus – 3 Fun Game

Overall it was an entertaining game last night. You had some nice goals, physical hockey, a few fights, and a firewagon overtime. The Sabres continue to play well under Granato and the on-ice product is vastly improved from a pure entertainment standpoint.

Granato is letting the young players on the roster get an opportunity and it’s giving fans something to watch here over the final 14 games.
