Sabres Acquire Jimmy Vesey

The Buffalo Sabres announced this morning that they have acquired forward Jimmy Vesey from the New York Rangers.

Vesey, 26, was originally drafted by the Nashville Predators back in the 2012 NHL Entry Level Draft.

Four years after being drafted, Vesey remained unsigned. This allowed Vesey to choose his own destination, as per the NHL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Vesey’s rights were then traded to the Buffalo Sabres on June 20, 2016. A month later, Vesey signed with the New York Rangers.

In 240 career games, Vesey has scored 90 points (50 goals, 40 assists).

Vesey has one year remaining on his contract at a cap hit of $2,275,000.
