The Buffalo Sabres haven’t been very entertaining so far this season, starting the year 0-3. However, tonight Buffalo fans should have more to cheer about.
The WWE is coming to the First Niagara Center tonight, and they’re bringing a brand new pay-per-view event, Battleground, with them.
Normally, this type of off-topic event wouldn’t get coverage here (that’s what SBNation’s excellent WWE site Cageside Seats is for) but in preparation for the big event, the WWE sent Superstar Rob Van Dam to visit the Sabres locker room, where he had one of the most awkwardly fantastic interviews with Patrick Kaleta I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching. The PPV in Buffalo also gives us an excuse to post this photo of generally awesome wrestler and noted Blackhawks fan CM Punk wearing a Sabres jersey.
