Tyler Ennis Injured, Cause And Severity Unknown

The Sabres have a number of starting NHL players playing in either the AHL or Europe, and Sabres fans have been hoping that losing Corey Tropp for the year is the only injury they’ll see.

While it’s too soon to panic, Tyler Ennis has been listed as injured for SC Langnau for the past few weeks.

Ennis is believed to have suffered an upper body injury early in the month of October, and has simply been listed as “injured” for each of Langnau’s game recaps since then. No news, at least that I’ve been able to find, has confirmed either the cause of the injury, nor the severity.

The fact that Ennis has been out for some time now makes this seem like more than just a simple bruise or sickness. However, one would think that a major injury that would jeopardize the season would be better publicized. The tiny winger has had injury problems in the past, playing in just 48 games last year for Buffalo.

The worst-case scenario for the Sabres would be a long-term injury, or one that will nag Ennis all season, soft tissue (i.e. hamstring) injury. It’s still too early to head down to the bomb shelter, but Sabres fans should keep their ears open for news from Switzerland, and perhaps offer up some sacrifices to the hockey gods.
