Final Thoughts

It’s been a while, but Buffalo has hit a rough patch. They have now lost their last three games even though two of them were in overtime. They have fallen into a bad habit of starting games slowly. They were able to rebound to force overtime in the last two, but they were less successful against the Red Wings.

Despite the low number of shots surrendered, they left Alex Lyon out to dry at times.

One concerning trend is the penalty kill is underperforming. This was the second time in three games they surrendered at least two powerplay goals.

The team was bound to hit some adversity before the regular season ended, but hopefully they can right the ship before Tampa Bay and Montreal catch them in the standings.
