Put on Your Thinking Caps for 20 Questions
It is getting into the dog days of summer, with hockey still more than 2 months out. So I thought I would try something different here, a Buffalo Sabres pop quiz. This is no Jedi mind trick, just a simple 20 question quiz on your knowledge of the Blue and Gold. Your score is on the honor system. See how many you can get right and post your results. (with a twist) Be sure and tell the truth now! I will give everyone some help by making all the answers multiple choice.
You WILL be graded on this but not by the number of correct answers you get. Instead, a current or former Buffalo Sabres player will represent your score. That is the twist. The chart is as follows:
If you get..
19-20 correct, you are Dominik Hasek
17-18 correct, you are Gilbert Perreault
15-16 correct, you are Pat LaFontaine
13-14 correct, you are Rasmus Dahlin
11-12 correct, you are Kyle Okposo
9-10 correct, you are Ric Seiling
7-8 correct, you are Paul Cyr
5-6 correct, you are Jacques Cloutier
3-4 correct, you are Sam Lafferty
1-2 correct, you are Ville Leino
0 correct, you are Morris Titanic!
If you only get 10 right, well my friend, you have hit your Ric Seiling. It’s no fun to cheat or lie, accept your results and embrace the player you are! Good luck, Godspeed and let’s drop the puck. You might want a pen and paper handy. The answer key will be at the bottom.

So how did you grade out? Share the number of correct answers you got and your player equivalent please. Be honest, even Jacques Cloutier had his moments for the Sabres!
Something I noticed in researching these questions. Tage Thompson is currently in 28th place in all time Buffalo Sabres scoring. But if he scores a reasonable 70 points this season, he will shoot up all the way to 15th. He will top both Dale Hawerchuck and Pat LaFontaine’s 385 career Buffalo points. He will also pass some classic names like Christian Ruuttu, Jim Lorentz, Maxim Afinogenov and Pierre Turgeon. TNT will also jump over some guy named Jack. Not too Shabby.
If you folks want another pop quiz later this summer, let me know.
