SBNation FanPulse: Buyers or Sellers?

We are less than two weeks away from one of the NHL’s most exciting days of the year, the Trade Deadline.

The Buffalo Sabres find themselves in an awkward position.

Through 57 games, Buffalo’s 25-24-8 record has them 10 points out of an Atlantic Division playoff berth and 11 points out of a Wild Card Berth.

Buffalo most certainly does not want to give up on their season and trade away assets but on the other hand, they do not seem willing to go all-in on this current team.

Looking at the current salary cap situation, the roster construction coupled with the team’s current record appear to lend their hand toward selling.

SBNation FanPulse voters seem to agree with that sentiment.

With seven pending unrestricted free agents on the roster, Buffalo should find themselves to be busy these next two weeks.

Players like Zemgus Girgensons, Johan Larsson and Conor Sheary certainly have proven their worth as potential depth pieces for a team looking to make a Stanley Cup run.
