Sabres vs. Senators Preview: Post-Pominville Era Begins Against Conacher, Senators
The Sabres first game since trading away Jason Pominville sees them facing the Ottawa Senators.
The Buffalo Sabres and Ottawa Senators will face off tonight, and each team has a big change in their lineup after the trade deadline. The Sabres traded away long-time winger and current captain Jason Pominville to Minnesota, and the Senators brought in Canisius College's own Cory Conacher from Tampa Bay. Conacher brings some much needed offense to an injury-riddled Senators squad, while at this point in the season, the Sabres are basically just riding out the last stretch of games.

Game Notes
The Sabres will be without the services of both Thomas Vanek and Ville Leino, and that means Big John Scott returns to the lineup. At this morning's practice, Nathan Gerbe was skating up on the top line with Cody Hodgson and newly appointed assistant captain Steve Ott, thus signaling that Ron Rolston is totally on board with this whole tanking thing.
