Sabres vs. Jets Preview: Grigorenko, Enroth In As Sabres Try To Play Spoiler

The Winnipeg Jets enter tonight’s game fighting for their playoff lives, sitting three points behind both the eight place Rangers and their division leading Capitals with three games to go. The Sabres enter tonight’s game having recently been knocked out of playoff contention, leaving only pride and the satisfaction of spoiling everyone else’s fun as their only motivators.

Game Notes

Tonight marks the return of rookie Mikhail Grigorenko, who will play on the Sabres third line, and will hopefully get more than the 8-ish minutes he was getting at the end of his last stint in Buffalo. “We’re gonna put him in game situations, and see the compete and just his overall game against a team like Jets who are going to be desperate. We’ll find out,” said Ron Rolston. Jhonas Enroth gets the start tonight, though Rolston was careful to mention that this does not mean that Ryan Miller’s season is done. Finally, Patrick Kaleta will miss tonight’s game with a hand injury he suffered blocking a shot against the Rangers.
