Three Questions

1. How will Zach Bogosian look in his Sabres debut?

It will be a while before we see Evander Kane don a Sabres jersey for the first time, but we will get a look at Bogosian tonight. He’s paired with Andre Benoit tonight, and Ted Nolan said he should get a lot of minutes. Nolan also said he’ll be “thrown into the fire,” a good analogy for being paired with Benoit.

2. Will Cody Hodgson get out of Nolan’s doghouse?

Last time Nolan discussed Hodgson, he said he could be sitting for a while. Well, he’s back, mostly because of necessity. With Drew Stafford getting traded and Patrick Kaleta out of the foreseeable future Hodgson gets another chance.

3. Will Chris Stewart be able to play?

Stewart was unable to practice due to flu-like symptoms, but he is still penciled into the Sabres’ lines. If he does suit up it looks like he’ll be on the first line, another chance to showcase a player whose stock appears to be rising. If he can’t play, will the Sabres need another call-up?

Projected BUF lines

Stewart – Girgensons – Ennis
Moulson – Mitchell – Gionta
Foligno – Flynn – Deslauriers
Larsson – Ellis – Hodgson

Benoit – Bogosian
Zadorov – Ristolainen
Weber – Meszaros

Goal: Michal Neuvirth
