Two Questions

1. How will Ryan Miller play in his return to Buffalo?

Today marks Miller’s first trip back to Buffalo since being traded in 2014 to St. Louis. The long-time Sabres starter earned 241 wins in 11 seasons with the blue and gold, and is off to a nice start for the Canucks this season, going 5-3-4 with a .923 save percentage.

Miller spoke about Buffalo this weekend, noting the city’s rapid change since he last saw it.

“I spent a lot of time here and tried to connect the best I could to the community and felt like I was a part of it,” he said. “A lot of the guys have actually been asking me what Buffalo is all about. The simplest answer is you get to know the city, you get to know the people and that’s really where it’s at.

“That’s what always has made it a great place is once you kind of show people who you are and they accept you, I think they feel like you’re always a part of that.”

He’ll surely get a nice ovation and the video tribute, but after that, will he be able to show his old team he’s still got what it takes to be an elite goaltender?

2. What will Jack Eichel do today?

Eichel has five goals, all coming at home, and all of the amazing variety, though he still has yet to earn his first assist. Will that come today, or will the new face of the Sabres put one past the old franchise player?

Projected BUF lines
