Three Questions

1. How big a factor will injuries play for the Sabres?

Yup, things aren’t looking good on this front for the Sabres. Of course there’s the Jack Eichel news. I’m guessing you didn’t miss that. Get well soon, buddy.

He’s not the only player the Sabres will be without. Tonight likely won’t be the regular season Sabres debut for Kyle Okposo, who hurt his knee in practice last week. John Vogl reported yesterday that Ryan O’Reilly may not play as well, but he did skate with the team in practice this morning.

2. Will Ristolainen show any signs of rust?

Rasmus Ristolainen has skated with the Sabres for parts of training camp and did partake in the World Cup of Hockey, but he missed some time before signing with the Sabres a few days ago. Will it be apparent that he hasn’t played in any preseason games?

3. Can the Sabres take advantage of a Carey Price-less Canadiens team?

Montreal will also be without their best player, as Carey Price has the Flu. Al Montoya, who has never lost in regulation against the Sabres, is starting in his place.

Projected BUF Lines

Kane – O’Reilly – Reinhart
Foligno – Larsson – Ennis
Moulson – Girgensons – Fasching
Deslauriers – Grant – Gionta

Gorges – Ristolainen
McCabe – Bogosian
Nelson – Franson

Goal: Robin Lehner
