Sabres vs. Bruins Preview: This Might Not Go So Well

Yesterday, the Sabres were outshot 43-15 and still managed to steal a win against the Islanders thanks to some heroics from Ryan Miller and Thomas Vanek being Thomas Vanek. Hopefully they were saving all their shots for tonight, because they’ll need them against a Boston team looking to avenge the first meeting between these division rivals, a 7-4 Buffalo victory. Tyler Myers will be scratched again for the Sabres, while Robyn Regehr is set to return from injury.

Story

Boston was supposed to be on the second day of a back-to-back weekend, just like Buffalo, but winter storm Nemo had other plans, forcing the Bruins to postpone their game yesterday. When you combine that with the fact that the Bruins, who are still one of the best teams in the league, will be looking for revenge against the team that handed them their only regulation loss, tonight’s game could get ugly.

Of course, the Sabres could come out and handle the Bruins again, who will be without the injured Brad Marchand. John Scott could fight Zdeno Chara, Tuukka Rask, and Claude Julien and knock them all out, thus ensuring a Sabres victory. The possible return of Robyn Regehr could give the Sabres some fresh legs on the back end and shut down Tyler Seguin & Co. It could happen, right?

Right?
