Sabres sign Zac Dalpe to a one-year contract

The Sabres added offensive depth today by signing Zac Dalpe to a one-year contract. Based on the current Sabres roster make-up Rochester may be Dalpe’s most likely landing spot, but he did play in 55 games for Vancouver last season. In that time he scored four goals and three assists.

Dalpe, 24, has totaled nine goals and eight assists in 96 games between the Canucks and Hurricanes. While in the Carolina organization he spent a majority of his time in the AHL. The former second-round pick stands at 6’1″ and 195 lbs.

Although he has served in a bottom-six role thus far in the NHL, he was viewed as a scoring prospect when drafted. In his last full AHL season, 2012-13, Dalpe scored 21 goals and 21 assists in 54 games.
