Sabres Sign Massive Forward John Scott

With the clock ticking down to bed time (or fun time) on the first day of free agency, the Buffalo Sabres have finally made some news, signing hulking free agent forward John Scott to a one-year deal worth $600,000.

Scott is a massive human being – he stands 6’8” and weighs a gigantic 270 lbs. The 29-year old plays the wing and has bounced around between a few different teams and has played in both the NHL and AHL since he made his way into the league in 2008.

Scott, who can play both wing and defense, will probably be either a press box player or an AHL/NHL spot starter, but he does have one elite skill. Check out his page on Hockey Fights, where he is an incredible 24-0 in his fights over the years. According to his agent, “He’s just so tough, no one will ever fight him.” Ya think he’ll be in the lineup for the first Boston game on October 30?

Scott is a giant man with seemingly few hockey skills, but he’s likely the Sabres only signing of the day, so what do you think, Sabres fans? Happy with Darcy?
