Sabres select goalie Erik Portillo at 67th overall
The Sabres start their second day of the draft by selecting goaltender Erik Portillo
The Buffalo Sabres have selected goalie Erik Portillo in the third round with their first pick of day two of the NHL Draft at 67th overall.
Portillo played in the Sweden with the Frolunda system this past season. He racked up a 1.99 GAA and .931 SVS% with Frolunda’s U20 team.
The Goteberg, Sweden native is noted for being poised in his net and using his 6’6”, 209lbs frame to his advantage. He is committed to playing with the University of Michigan next season.
The Sabres are next scheduled to pick in the fourth round at 122nd overall. There have been plenty of trades so far during this second day of the draft and you can follow them here.
