Mikhail Grigorenko and Zac Dalpe sent down, Reinhart and McCabe still with Sabres

The Sabres 23-man roster is due Tuesday at 5pm, so the team will likely continue cutting down the roster today.

Despite his impressive play in the pre-season, Mikhail Grigorenko will not be starting the season with the Buffalo Sabres. He's been sent down to the Rochester Americans according to his agent Jay Grossman.

This is the first season Grigorenko is eligible to play in the AHL at the start of the season due to NHL/CHL regulations. He made his Americans debut last season during the playoffs after his QMJHL season had come to an end.

The Sabres have also sent Zac Dalpe down to Rochester on the condition that he clears waivers. Dalpe, a free agent signing, scored four goals and three assists in 55 games with Vancouver last season. He'll be a solid addition to the Americans forward unit. He scored 21 goals and 21 assists in 54 games during his last substantial AHL season in 2012-13.

Sam Reinhart will make in NHL debut against Columbus on Tuesday according to Nolan. Jake McCabe is also still with the team.

Nolan also told the media that the captain announcement will likely come tomorrow. It will just be one captain and two assistants, unlike the announcement at the beginning of last season.

The deadline for 23-man rosters is 5 pm on Tuesday.
