Sabres Injury Update: Christian Ehrhoff To Return Tuesday

While the Sabres make their epic trek to the bottom of the Eastern Conference, they will have one more defenseman in the starting lineup to help them. Christian Ehrhoff has been out of the lineup since December 30th when he suffered a rib injury in a fight with Troy Brouwer.

While Ehrhoff may not be having one of his most productive seasons in terms of offense, having his presence back on the power play should help a team that has gone 4 for 28 since Ehrhoff has been out of the lineup. The Sabres power play is now tied for 14th in the league with a 18.2% conversion rate. Ehrhoff is tied with Marc-Andre Gragnani for the defensive lead with seven power play points and one power play goal.

Ehrhoff talked with the Buffalo media after practice on Monday and was excited about what he could possibly bring as he returned to the lineup:

“I want to bring some confidence and some fun. Its been a tough few weeks for the guys that have been playing and I’ll come in and try and bring some excitement and give them some confidence.”

“You know, I’ll try and throw a joke out or something to get guys going and try and get the confidence level up.”

If telling a joke in the locker room is what it’s going to take to get this team back on a winning streak, then maybe Pegula should hire a full-time stand up comedian.
