Sabres give Ted Nolan three-year contract extension

After weeks of rumors that it was close, today the Sabres officially announced that Ted Nolan has signed a three year extension to serve as the Sabres head coach. Thus, the interim tag has been taken off.

Nolan rejoined the Sabres on November 13, replacing the fired Ron Rolston. The team has gone 16-30-8 under Nolan. In his 381 total games coached he has a 163-170-48 record. Although he was originally brought in by Pat Lafontaine, Tim Murray is confident that he is the right man to coach this team going forward.

Nolan and Murray spoke at a press conference at 12:30 about the new contract.
