Two Questions

1. Will we finally see Matt Hackett tonight?

Ted Nolan said Matt Hackett will “probably” start but we won’t know until game time. Hackett has not played well this season for the Sabres, but that could be exactly what the doctor ordered for 30th place. Or he could be like every other bad goalie the Sabres have brought in and go on a ridiculous hot streak.

2. Can the slumping Predators take advantage of a Sabres team playing the second half of a back-to-back?

The Preds have not won at home in their last five tries, and have stumbled in the standings after starting the season as one of the NHL’s best. Good thing the 30th place team is coming to town, but it’s up to Nashville to take advantage, as the Sabres haven’t been quite the easy out recently as they were earlier in the year.

Projected BUF lines

Moulson – Larsson – Ennis
Foligno – Varone – Gionta
Deslauriers – Schaller – Hodgson
D’Amigo – Ellis – Dalpe

Weber – Riistolainen
Benoit – Strachan
Zadorov – Ruhwedel

Goal: Matt Hackett
